George Westlake
* 21st April 1918 + 18th January 2006 RAF fighter pilot, he was assigned to 213 Squadron. He fighted in the Battle of Britain. His first success was a Messerschmitt Bf 109 south of Selsey Bill on November 15 1940. Later he was operating in Syria against the Vichy-French Air Force, with No 80 Squadron. In the autumn of 1942, when he was awarded the DFC. |
