* 16th May 1920 + 31st October 2011 Cdr.May finished his Navy training in June 1942. He flew F4F Wildcats and F4U Corsairs in FS-3 and FS-10 and was assigned to the carrier USS Langley. His combat actions started at Marshall Island in January 1944. Units: VF - 3, VF - 10, VF - 32. Awards: 5 Distinguished Flying Crosses, 9 Air Medals. |
