* 8th February 1921 + 12th April 2008 US fighter pilot, who was initially assigned to the unit VF9. In 1943 he was sent to fight against Imperial Japan. In November 1943 he achieved 5 aerial victories over Tarawa Atoll. Hamilton McWhorter III retired from the Navy as a Commander in 1969. |
