* 17th November 1923 + 24th July 2015 Lt. McGraw joined army in October 1942. In april 1944, he was assigned to Composite Squadron 10 (VC-10) which embarked aboard the USS Gambier Bay. He scored his first confirmed aerial victory on the 18th June 1944. On the 25th October 1944 he became the first and only one VC-10 fighter ace. Awards: Navy Cross, the Distinguished Flying Cross, and 8 Air Medals. |
