* 31st July 1918 + 15th May 2004 Since october 1942 he flew as a pilot with B-17 heavy bomber called Memphis Belle as a member of 91st Bomb Group, 324th Bombardment Squadron. Initially, the Memphis Belle flew missions into France and the Low countries, but in early 1943, Germany became the target. On 17 May 1943, crew completed the last mission. |
