* 28th February 1920 + 11th May 2014 John Ellacombe joined the RAF in 1939 and was posted to 151 Squadron in July 1940. In February 1941 was posted to 253 Squadron where he took part in the Dieppe operations. During D-Day he attacked German convoys and railway targets. |
