* 15th July 1923 + 1st February 2012 He joined the British army - the unit 1st Northamptonshire Yeomanry. On the 8th August 1944 he participated on Operation Totalize near the French village of St. Aignan de Cramesnil. During short battle, Ekins destroyed three Tigers and one Panzer IV. One of the oponents during this battle was Michael Wittmann, the 4th best tank ace in the history. |
