* 1st September 1914 + 4th February 2005 United States Army soldier, by August 27, 1944 was serving as a technical sergeant in 143rd Infantry Regiment, 36th Infantry Division. On that day, near Mont?limar, France, he provided covering fire for a combat medic who was evacuating wounded men to safety. Because of his heroism, he was awarded the Medal of Honor. |
