Robert Rankin
* 23rd October 1918 + 14th May 2013 US Fighter pilot, who joined army in March 1941. In August 1943 he was assigned to the 56th Fighter Group in England. His first victory was Bf-109, which he downed over Paris in February 1944. He earned the Distinguished Service Cross, Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross with three Oak Leaf Clusters. |
