US fighter pilot who shot down three German planes in one morning was a member of the 414 Fighter / Reconnaissance Squadron RCAF in England.
He flew an English Spitfire 200 hours in the Battle of Britain after transferring to the U.S. Army Air Force and Shot down the first German plane on D-Day.


Lieutenant Colonel Clyde B East flew over 200 combat missions during the war, achieving 14 victories.
