* 1st November 1917 + 8th April 2016 Fighter pilot, in early 1940 was transferred to JG 2 Richthofen. Rudorffer got his first victory over a Curtiss Hawk 75, on 14 May 1940. He scored eight more times before the capitulation of France. On 1 May 1941 he was awarded the Ritterkreuz. In July 1943 Hauptmann Rudorffer was appointed to command II./JG 54 on the Eastern Front. In the winter of 1944, Major Rudorffer was trained on the Messerschmitt Me 262 Jet fighter. This is NOT a site meant to promote Nazism, the politics of Adolf Hitler, or any other political ideology. It deals with the subject of German military during a particular period of history--nothing else. |
Major Rudorffer was a Luftwaffe fighter ace with a total of 222 victories in more than 1000 combat missions. |
